Profiling our board of directors
Andrew MacFarlane - Chairman of the Board
Andrew graduated as a physicist in 1966 and completed a Sloan Fellowship at London Business School in 1981. He has worked closely with a number of VCs, and has successfully built and sold six companies in the IT and Electronic sectors. Andrew is currently on the board of SiTel and on the strategic board of Avnet Inc., a US$15Billion American-based global distribution business in Electronic components and IT products.
Nick is part of HgCapital's Portfolio Management Team. Nick joined HgCaptital in 1989 after six years with Touche Ross where he qualified as a chartered accountant and conducted various acquisition reviews and corporate investigations. Nick has been responsible for the investments in Raymarine, Greycoat Estates, Dechra Pharmaceuticals and Thomas Walter. He has also overseen the flotations of Dechra Pharmaceuticals, Patientline and Raymarine. He is a director on the board of Raymarine and Eagle Rock. Nick holds a degree in Economics from Cambridge University.
Dan is the latest addition to SiTel Semiconductor’s Board of Directors, taking up the second Hg Capital seat on the board. With eleven years in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications sector, six of which were focused on the semiconductor sector, he brings with him a wealth of experience and understanding.
Joining Hg Capital’s London office in 2008, Dan was involved with Hg’s investment in Epyx. Prior experience includes several successful investments while at Draper Fisher Jurvetson’s Growth Fund and with TA Associates in Silicon Valley, along with advisory experience at Arma Partners in London and Broadview International between the US and Europe. Dan graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a degree in International Economics.
