Flexibility is the key word in describing SiTel's baseband processor ICs. This helps make them the number one choice for manufacturers. The platform concept provides the freedom to easily implement existing and new features. SiTel's baseband chips are designed to save time and costs in new product development. The family offers extended flexibility through its multi-processor architecture, covering low-end to high-end applications for both cordless voice and data solutions.
Our DECT baseband processor ICs can be used in basic or high-end handsets, basestations and basestations with answering machine capabilities. The ICs support a wide range of services and applications such as SMS / MMS, voice recognition, caller identification, answering machine control, baby monitors and family radio systems.
The processing heart consists of a CompactRISC™ 16-bit microcontroller. It also features an easy to program DIP (Dedicated Instruction Processor) to simplify the management of standard air protocols, as well as customer-specific protocols. A general-purpose digital signal processor (DSP) is provided on-chip for high-quality voice sound.
This combination makes SiTel's DECT baseband processor ICs equally suitable in the DECT environment for generic access protocol (GAP), non-GAP and the latest CAT-iq applications. Additionally our flexible baseband architecture guarantees the software compatibility with previous generations which is key to ensuring easy upgrades for the next generation of cordless telephones.
